Why London is the ideal home for tech

London is Europe’s leading destination for technology companies, investment and innovation, combining scale with global reach. It ranks number one globally as a source city and second as a destination city for AI-related foreign direct investment.[1]

In 2026 alone (to May), London has attracted $12.6bn in tech investment - the third highest of any city in the world and the highest in Europe. In the same period, the city has produced 12 new tech unicorns, joint third-highest globally and more than any other European city.

From AI and fintech to quantum, climate tech, life sciences and media tech, the city brings together world-class talent, capital, research institutions and decision-makers in one ecosystem where innovation can scale rapidly.
