London bids for European Swimming Championships 2016
London has been announced as an official bid city for the 2016 LEN European Swimming Championships, with the capital's new Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park at the heart of the proposal.
The event will ensure an Olympic legacy for not only the Aquatics Centre, but also for the sport and swimming participation.
The bid for an event featuring Swimming, Diving and Synchronised Swimming has the full backing of Mayor of London Boris Johnson and the Major Events team at London & Partners, UK Sport and the Olympic Park Legacy Company.
