JOB DESCRIPTION
Position title: Project Manager
Reporting to: Business Performance Manager
Responsible for: Working with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective management and delivery of key projects within the London & Partners business plan
Purpose
We have a requirement for a Project Manager to co-ordinate and drive the delivery of cross-functional projects across the business as well as other ad-hoc projects that might arise from time to time. The key cross-functional projects for 2013-14 will be to develop and deliver our strategy to generate greater economic impact from our activities related to China; London’s creativity and culture; and London’s life sciences cluster.
Key tasks
- Prepare project documentation including progress, action reports and GANTT charts. Ensure documentation is complete, current and appropriately stored and meets the requirements of London & Partners’ project management methodology
- Identify resourcing requirements for individual projects and assign responsibilities appropriately
- Support the project sponsor and project lead by offering key project management expertise in the delivery of projects
- Identify and mitigate project risks and ensure that these are correctly assessed and communicated
- Manage day-to-day project operations including progress chasing and arranging meetings
- Ensure that project information is communicated to the right people in the right format and at the right time
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient project delivery
- Submit project status reports to stakeholders and project teams; be able to anticipate and react to changing priorities and resources
- Prepare project budgets, schedule expenditure and monitor variances.

Person specification
The successful candidate will demonstrate:-
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree-level education or professional qualification
- Knowledge of project management methodology and documentation
- Experience of managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and offering Project Management expertise to a range of Project Leads at different levels of business
- Proactive organisational skills
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills
- Excellent MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint (MS Project desirable but not essential)
- Experience of working in a structured Project/Programme Management Environment
- Experience of building effective relationships at all levels and engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders with conflicting views and demands
